For many Americans, it is a lifelong dream to attend a SuperBowl game. Unfortunately with the mainstream popularity the event has garnered over the past couple decades, the Superbowl is a cultural phenomenon, and unofficial federal holiday, and THE event of the year, aka ticket prices skyrocket to unbelievable prices. Football fans and non-football across the nation and the globe will be tuning in this Sunday for the largest sporting event of the year (during the non-Olympics years, that is).
Prepare yourself for the Atlanta vs. New England matchup by discovering the best spots in the DMV to watch the big game, and score food & drink deals you can’t beat.
Red’s Table (Reston) is the place to go if you’re feeding a large party. Super Bowl takeouts for 15 to 20 people include smoky chicken wings ($35), fried chicken or braised pork ($85), and buttermilk biscuits and potato salad ($85). Pickup is available from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. To place an order, call 571-375-7755.
All Set Restaurant & Bar (Silver Spring) is most likely the only place in the DMV hosting a Lady Gaga costume contest, in honor of the halftime performer. Specials include happy hour dishes, priced from $2.50 to $9, including oysters, mini burgers, fish tacos, mussels and chickpea fries.
All-Purpose Pizzeria (DC) will also offer a takeout special on Super Bowl Sunday consisting of a 2-foot-long Italian hoagie, serving 4-6 people ($40). Orders must be placed by 2/3 and can include regular menu items.
Three words: Unlimited Taco Bar ($25). Head to Pepita in Arlington for their SuperBowl Party. Eat all the tacos your heart desires. Drink specials will also be offered.
